We were in Belgrade at the end of April. We had a wonderful three night break in your wonderful city. Rarely have we met such friendly people. The food at VegANGELov was genuinely providing some of the best vegan meals we have ever had and the menu was so extensive. Just amazing.

Recommends: VegANGELov — Forest ramen (ลกuma ramen)

Equally good for vegans and for anyone who just wants a proper meal in Belgrade. We went for a celebratory birthday lunch here, and I've wanted to come back ever since. The forest ramen is the dish I would suggest to everyone who goes to VegANGELov.

We visited VegANGELov in April to celebrate a birthday. It was late afternoon, and the place was almost full. We took a table on the top floor. There is seating on the ground level too, but upstairs felt more cosy. It’s what we wanted for this occasion anyway.

There was no crowd and no rush all the time we were there.

We started our meal with some lentil bread and grilled shiitake mushrooms. A friend recommended that we must check out the bao buns, so we did. For mains, we chose the forest ramen (ลกuma ramen) and the gnocchi with blue cheese and walnuts. We shared a cheesecake from Superfit for dessert.

I won’t describe dish by dish. The short version is that everything was amazing. Flavours were so rich, and by the end of the meal we were talking about coming back to work through the rest of the menu. The forest ramen in particular is the dish I’d recommend to all of my friends.

Service was quiet and unobtrusive, which suited us. We hadn’t booked a table and didn’t need to apparently. There was room when we arrived, even with the place mostly full. Price felt fair for what we ate, and on a birthday it wasn’t the thing we were thinking about anyway.

Next time, I want to try the tom yum ramen. I’d recommend VegANGELov to anyone in Belgrade looking for a proper meal, vegan or not.
