We write guides, feature the people behind the city's vegan scene, and collect recommendations from locals and travellers who know the city firsthand.
Everything on this site comes from people who live here, eat here, or have visited and want to help the next person plan a better trip.
VeganBelgrade.com is built by a Belgrade team that specialises in tourism data visualisation.
This website is a community project by VIZDATA, a digital consultancy based in Belgrade that works with tourism organisations across Europe.
Part of what we do at VIZDATA is analyse travel insights and find gaps between what travellers search for and what destinations actually offer them.
When we looked at our own city, vegan and plant-based dining stood out immediately. The city's tourism has grown significantly in recent years, with foreign arrivals now well above pre-pandemic levels and source markets diversifying fast.
More people are coming to Belgrade than ever before, from more places, and a growing number of them are searching for vegan options before they arrive.
What they find is a handful of listicles written by people who visited for a weekend, or outdated blog posts, sometimes even forum threads from many years ago. Very little was written by people who actually live here and eat here regularly.
We built Vegan Belgrade to fill that gap and become a content hub where locals, visitors, and business owners share what they know, but not as a directory or a review platform.
The guides are researched and written by people who live in the city. The place features tell the stories of the people behind the businesses. The recommendations come from the community.
The site is free, independent, and has no paid placements. If a place appears here, it's because someone in the community genuinely recommends it.
Vegan Belgrade publishes four types of content, each built around a different perspective on the city's vegan scene.
This site gets better when more people contribute.
Tell us about your trip. What did you eat, where did you go, and what should other vegan travellers know? Your experience helps the next person plan theirs.
